Dubai Business Events (DBE) has reported 90 successful bids to host international events submitted between January and June 2017! Events like exhibitions and conferences have attracted over 50,000 global delegates. These travellers have, in turn, caused a major economic boom of around AED 375 million within the business hub!

CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Issam Kazim, is extremely proud of Dubai’s growing presence inside the MICE industry. Mr. Kazim notes, “Not only do [international business events] accelerate our journey towards becoming a knowledge-sharing economy, but [they] are also major contributors towards our goal of welcoming 20 million visitors each year by 2020.”

DBE is currently waiting on responses for 97 other submitted bids to host international events. Some of the major secured wins include the 2020 Congress of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions and the 2019 World Conference on Desalination and Water Re-Use!

However, these victories shouldn’t come as a surprise. Over the same time period of 6 months, DBE representatives have been attending countless trade events to interact and communicate with other professionals in the industry in order to forge personal bonds and facilitate serious business relationships. At this rate, there will be no slowing down for the Dubai MICE market!
