Convention Bureau Italia has launched its Italian Destinations Retreat, a new project dedicated to the destinations sector of the meeting industry. The initiative is targeted at the networks of local operators with its purpose to recognize the most effective best practices. CBI wants to take the change to discuss the current challenges in the industry and find solutions in an open forum.

The first meeting was a great success: Information about the current situation of the Italian destinations in terms of governance, membership and marketing strategies were presented. Regarding marketing strategies for example, Convention Bureau Italia analysed the promotional activities developed by the participants with the aim of improving the services it offers to respond to the local Convention Bureaux’ needs and expectations.

Carlotta Ferrari, Convention Bureau Italia president: “We are extremely satisfied with the results of this first appointment. The whole day was spent in an atmosphere of great enthusiasm and sharing. Many destinations presented their excellence in term of best practices, and this was useful for understanding how to overcome the common and critical challenges. The meeting was a really positive moment for the Italian Meeting Industry, showing that we are not competitors, but, even better, that we believe in the benefits we can all receive if each of us improves our strategies.”
