To travel to Ljubljana is straightforward as the Slovenian capital is easy accessible – by airplane, by car and by rail.
By airplane: All flights are operated through the Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport which is located 25 km from the city centre. There are around 200 weekly scheduled non-stop flights to 26, mostly European destinations. Travellers can choose between 6 regular and 2 low-cost airlines: Adria Airways, Air Serbia, Air France, easyJet, Finnair, Montenegro Airlines, Turkish Airlines and Wizz Air. Since 29 March 2015 a further airline, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), has been operating daily between Zürich and Ljubljana.
By car: Slovenia offers an efficient and safe road system due to its modernisation in the past decades. The motorway cross assures an easy and swift access from the border crossings with Italy, Austria and Hungary. Frankfurt for example is located 800 km from Ljubljana, Amsterdam 1,230 km and Budapest 570 km. Next to its motorways Slovenia profits from a good network of main and regional roads.
By rail: People also can travel to Ljubljana by rail. The trains are modern, comfortable and inexpensive. There are good connections to neighbouring countries as direct train services to Austria, Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Italy, Serbia etc. More information on the website of the Slovenian Railways: www.slo-zeleznice.si.
