From 2018 to 2020, Florence will host four new congresses thanks to the bidding activity of Firenze Convention and Visitors Bureau and its members, in particular thanks to the strong teamwork with Firenze Fiera Congress and Exhibition Centre.
First on the list, the Regional meeting of the International Society for Cellular Therapy that will be held in the venues managed by Firenze Fiera Congress and Exhibition Centre in 2018, with 300 delegates coming from all over Europe.
Two further congresses have been confirmed for 2019: the International Congress on Controversies in Rheumatology Autoimmunity (CORA) – hosted in Florence for the 2nd time after its first edition in 2011 and organized by Kenes, one of the most important PCOs in the world – and the National Congress of LIONS who chose the Teatro Verdi of Florence to host their 2.000 delegates.
In September 2020, the congress citadel of Firenze Fiera will be hosting the IEEE Radar Conference. FCVB gave its support for this congress to find an institutional venue for the gala dinner for free thanks to its partnership with Florence Municipality.
These 4 meetings have been officially confirmed in the last months and will contribute to bring business and quality events to the city: over 4.000 delegates and almost 2,5 million Euros of economic impact (data estimated by FCVB).
Also, the first semester of 2017 is very positive: 8 congresses have been confirmed, thanks to the biddings department activity, and nearly 180 MICE events requests have been received and managed by FCVB team from January to June.
A big result for Florence that can count on a special subvention plan dedicated to international conferences which has been developed by Firenze Convention and Visitors Bureau together with Firenze Fiera Congress and Exhibition Centre, Tecnoconference – TC Group and other main players in the local MICE industry. With this plan, Florence professionals offer a maximum of 60.000 Euros of their best services on the occasion of a selection of the most important and relevant international conferences that will be held in Florence.
Moreover, to increase the number of corporate events, FCVB will launch a special subvention plan within the end of 2017.
