In an exclusive interview, Muftic spills the beans on the suitability and connectivity of an off-beat destination like Zagreb for Indian MICE and social events.
How is your destination suited for Indian event planners?
Generally speaking, Zagreb is a new emerging destination for the Indian market and a new capital of the European Union. It has convenient flight connections to India operated by Qatar Airways via Doha, Turkish Airlines via Istanbul, Lufthansa via Frankfurt and Munich and Austrian via Vienna. Indian citizens can enter Croatia with a valid multiple Schengen visa. English is widely spoken in Zagreb, it is a very safe and hospitable city.
How will it benefit Indian planners to be connected with you? Learning from Indian groups previously, if any.
Destination Zagreb offers lots of possibilities for corporate/association meetings and incentives. The city’s main attractions and conference venues are all centrally located, conference hotels in cooperation with Indian chefs are able to provide Indian food. In addition, there are a couple of respectable Indian restaurants in the city center. Together with great shopping possibilities, there is also an 18 hole golf course close to the city center. In Zagreb’s surroundings, some 2 hours coach ride to the south, there is one of the most beautiful natural parks– Plitvice Lakes, the UNESCO-protected natural world heritage site. Close proximity to the unique Croatian Adriatic coast – less than 2 hours drive makes Zagreb an even more attractive destination. So, there’s a number of unique locations and activities in the city and its vicinity that can work very well for a memorable meeting or an exciting incentive.
