To inspire the world to come to New Zealand and experience its beauty, TNZ is actually bringing New Zealand to the world at IMEX. Planners are invited to come and experience “Korero and Kai” – a local concept of “Meeting and Eating together” as a fundamental principle of hosting guests in New Zealand. The Kiwi culture (in particular the distinct Maori culture) believes in taking genuine care of their guests. They believe in making the guests feel completely at home, in their home.

Tourism New Zealand is all set to dazzle at IMEX 2018 in Frankfurt (May 15-17) with a complete convention package that the country of New Zealand has to offer. But it actually offers much more than that for business visitors at IMEX – a genuine cultural experience is brought to Frankfurt that all planners visiting the TNZ stand will not forget!
Why should congress organizers consider New Zealand as a viable option for their next event? Well, let’s put aside the fact that it offers world class venues, facilities, accommodation, catering and connectivity, because frankly, most of the top destinations in the world do. We will take that for granted. What sets this island country apart is its natural and cultural heritage. In New Zealand you get breathtaking landscapes and scenery alongside a unique New Zealand culture that welcomes you with open arms. It is the combination of these two elements that creates a truly magical experience “beyond convention”.

Exclusively for IMEX, a 250(!) kilogram table created and carved by local NZ artists and made of a piece of 4000 year old New Zealand swamp wood will be shipped to Frankfurt! In the “Korero and Kai” concept at IMEX, planners will enjoy a meeting and sharing of a meal with locals from New Zealand at some of the best natural locations in the country. We do not reveal how they will do that – it is a surprise! The Kiwis will offer local food and cuisine appropriate to the time of the day in Frankfurt. Both the New Zealand hosts and the guests get to sit together and meet each other across the table – sharing their ideas, expectations, belief and culture. In Maori culture, it is believed that a stranger will soon become a friend after a conversation and meal. So the idea is to enable the world to get closer to the unique people and culture of New Zealand by sitting at their table from wherever they are in the world.

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a slice of New Zealand, in Frankfurt, yourself. We are sure you will be highly inspired to organize your next congress in New Zealand and to extend the “Korero and Kai” thought to your own delegates.

You can join these special meetings during the TNZ hosted buyer group presentations and additionally, there will be additional time slots available for visitors who are not part of a hosted buyers group. We will communicate the exact times before IMEX here, and there also will be a sign at TNZ stand telling you when you definitely should drop by. You can find the TNZ team at stand C300.
