Outokumpu, the largest stainless steel producer in Europe, opened its Global Business Service Center (GBS) in Vilnius on March 22nd. This center will supervise IT project management and architecture, service enhancements and much more. The Outokumpu GBS is one of the largest industrial company service centers currently operating in Lithuania.

As of last week, more than 80 professionals are currently working at the service center in Vilnius and the number keeps growing. They expect to reach 100 Vilnius-based employees by the end of 2017.

Outokumpu CFO Christopher da la Camp explained, “The criteria for establishing a service center in Lithuania were favorable investment climate, existing infrastructure and a possibility to attract professionals who besides being proficient in their own functional area also have good language skills.”

Site Manager Davia Sereikiene says, “The Global Business Service Center in Vilnius helps Outokumpu Group to streamline internal process and functions, creates value added for the company by managing business processes between Outokumpu production sites, suppliers, costumers, and external users of financial information.”

With the arrival of this new Global Business Center, Vilnius will become even more attractive not only to potential employees, but also to international investors and entrepreneurs.
