The Swedish capital is considered one of the world’s greenest cities. Government and inhabitants have put much effort in sustainable development with the focus on energy, construction, consumption and transport. For their efforts, they have won many prizes so far.

Tourists coming to Malmö can see for themselves: Sustainability guide Catarina Rolfsdotter-Jansson takes the visitors on a journey through the “green” city. Among others, they experience the Turning Torso, Europe’s second-tallest dwelling, at 190 metres and 54 floors, incorporating a high degree of sustainability. Or the Malmö University which puts a strong focus on sustainable development. And – exactly in the name of sustainablility – they explore the whole city by bike, possible due to its 500 km of cycle tracks.
