Besides the wide variety of interesting European destinations that Salzburg Airport offers, starting this summer its portfolio is being expanded and it will include two flights a week to Scandinavia.
The flights are being run by Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). “We are committed to a continual expansion in the range of destinations available to our customers”, states Eivind Roald, Executive Vice President of SAS.
Current dicusstion are being held in the present also on the re-introduction of the Paris-Salzburg connection.
The connection would be great for individual travellers and even more so for people involved in trade fairs. Dr. Herbert Preclik, economic delegate from the Austrian Chambers of Commerce, said realistically “Salzburg as a venue for trade fairs only makes sense for the French market if the destination can be reached directly”.
British Airways is now increasing the frequency of flights between Salzburg Airport and London Gatwick to ten connections per week, due to the large British demand. On Saturdays from mid-February until the end of March there will be an additional flight. The UK capital city will be served from Salzburg every day. On Sundays there will be two flights to choose from – and on Saturdays three.
