In the last years, Slovenia has experienced a boom in the MICE Industry. The European country has successively turned into an important destination for meeting planners, due to various reasons and great USPs.

Firstly, the country puts a lot of effort in increasing their share of international MICE Business. During the last years, many new conference facilities – e.g. in congress centres, hotels and thermal spas – have been established. Existing centres were enlarged and modernized. Available meeting rooms are suitable for smaller as well as large events, with high technical standards and professional staff. The favourable value-for-money of the conference services is a great advantage compared to other European countries.

The Slovenian Convention Bureau has a leading role in establishing Slovenia as an attractive MICE destination, working on a complex strategy and marketing campaigns in order to present all the wonderful opportunies and advantages the country has to offer in the MICE sector.

Moreover, their plan includes a new and optimized, user-friendly website presenting the fresh and unique Slovenian approach. The CVB also puts emphasis on presenting their partners, which are a distinctive selection from the best venues, hotels and DMCs in Slovenia.

Slovenia is a special country with many different landscapes and concept. It is the only European country that unites the Alps, the Mediterranean Sea, the Pannonian Plain and the Karst – not to forget about the beautiful cities with great cultural background. Thus, Slovenia offers great possibilities to meeting planners: they can hold conferences, congresses, meetings and events in regions that all have unique traits: diverse landscapes, gastronomy, culture and historical sites.

Furthermore, planners benefit from easy accessibility and the short distances in the country, as the different regions are close to each other. This allows high-quality, contrasting programs without long transfers. Slovenia is particularly suitable for incentives: In the Alps incentive groups can do rafting, kayaking, canoeing and ice-climbing, at the seaside water-skiing or sailing, just to name a few.
