Today we are happy to present you a new partner of the “Slovenian Energy – the secret for your meetings and incentives” project: Tomaž Krušič, Managing Director at Intours DMC. Here are the answers to our three questions as well as a link to one of their great incentive videos.

1. Tell us something we don’t know about Slovenia and that you think is of interest to intl. planners.

The first brown bear on German soil in over 170 years, came originally from Slovenia. Bruno, the brown bear, was greeted as a welcome visitor and a symbol of success for reintroducing endangered species.

In recent years, bears have been moved from Slovenia, where an estimated 400 to 500 live, and reintroduced in the mountainous areas of Central Europe. Slovenia is namely a land of forest, where bear population has survived due to natural environment and man’s sympathy for this species facing extinction.

And precisely due to its pristine nature and landscape diversity, Slovenia is a heaven for a wide variety outdoor activities and team building events. From spring to autumn, guests can test their adrenalin in canyoning, sailing, kayaking and rafting on white waters, while they can enjoy snowshoeing, ice-climbing and dog sledding in winter months.

2. Could you please describe Slovenia in five words?

Safe and Pristine, Energetic, Diverse and still Boutique.

3. What example in your specific MICE offer is adding a particularly energizing element to programs

According to Lonley Planet, Slovenia is “Europe’s outdoor adventure playground.” A special outdoor adventure is jeep safari, where the participants get behind the wheel and test their driving skills on a test and training range. They can drive jeeps through the rough terrain of South Eastern Slovenia, exploring the Slovenian countryside off the beaten path. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, the guests can blind drive on the training area, rescue vehicles stuck in mud and enjoy abseiling 70 meters in depth. For some impressions of this jeep adventure, watch the Intours video.
