The Soča Valley region (Posočje) is an amazing outdoor destination in the Slovenian Alps, famous for the emerald Soča river and known for its natural beauties. The region stretches from Triglav National Park to Nova Gorica, including the outdoor activity centres of Bovec and Kobarid. More than 30 different outdoor activities in the range of 30 km are possible.

Staggering waterfalls, cascades, pools and ravines offer unforgettable kayaking and rafting tours, canyoning and other thrilling adventures. The valley’s natural attractions can be seen from the air, paragliding or from an airplane. Caving and hang-gliding enable special interaction with nature, hiking, mountain and bicycle trails lead you to amazing places and people.

In winter, skiing is a total must in the Soča Valley region. There is an excellent skiing resort at Bovec Kanin. It is Slovenia’s highest resort at 2300 m and offers a lot of scope for intermediate and advanced skiers, with its steeper longer pistes and great off piste potential. All in all, 17 km of pistes and 15 km of cross-country runs are available.

One guest about his stay in Soča Valley:

Soca Valley – what a travel jewel it is – fabulous destination for an Incentive trip – the Emerald river, the watersports, hiking and cycling and the history make this a must see location – a well kept secret. The gastronomic delights were also a winner. I also have every confidence the Tourist Board would ensure everything goes to plan.
