This year, Villa Erba offers you the opportunity to have a fairytale Christmas celebration and honor your corporate social responsibility at the same time. Best part, it comes at no extra cost to you.

Villa Erba has officially joined the ‘Food for Good’ project organized by the Federcongressi & events in collaboration with the onlus Banco Alimentare and Equoevento. This project, works at recovering excess food from conferences, congresses and other events, and redistributes it to the needy.

Food is one of the most basic necessities of every individual. There are currently over 10 million poor people in Italy, with an estimated 6 million of these living in conditions of absolute poverty, out of which 1 million are children. On the other hand, 12 billion euro worth of food every year is simply thrown out and wasted, most of it coming from the excess food at big events. To combat this issue, the ‘Food for Good’ project was launched in 2015 and it has made a powerful impact since. Tonnes of excess food from various events are collected and distributed with the help of volunteer organizations to local soup kitchens which feeds the poor and needy people.
