World Energy Council 2018 to take place in Milan

The Italian candidature for the organization of the World Assembly of the World Energy Council 2018 proved to be a great success, resulting in the future gathering of about one hundred countries and the principal international energy companies in four days of proceeding in Milan.

The decision to assign the event to Italy was made at the WEC Annual Assembly 2016, held in Istanbul on 9th October.

Italian Committee of the WEC President, Marco Margheri states: “The Italian proposal was greeted with enthusiasm, confirming the important international role of our country in the development of international energy cooperation. We mentioned the results achieved by the Italian energy sector in the development of technologies and skills, in the development of industrial relations with the leading producer and consumer countries, and in the promotion of energy transition and digital technologies. WEC Milan 2018 will be an important platform for continuing to valorise and to enrich this role, with focus on the Mediterranean region and on Africa.”

The WEC Assembly 2018 scheduled in Milan will have energy safety/security, accessibility and sustainability, and the water-energy supply chain as themes.
