In the middle of June, Villa Erba celebrated its 30th anniversary with a huge feast. More than 700 guests, among these many politicians, attended the event which took place in the International Exhibition and Congress Center of Villa Erba.
Veitshöchheim/Germany, 7 July 2016 – For 30 years, the ancient Villa and the modern Exhibition & Convention Center have been used for all kind of events – and many have taken place there, such as the annual Concorso d’Eleganza promoted by BMW, the German National Day Celebrations during EXPO Milan 2015, the International Golf Travel Market (2014) and the Lightening by Swarovski. It is the combination of history and tradition on one side, and innovation and technology on the other, which make Villa Erba an extraordinary venue. In June, it was time to celebrate the success of the last three decades.
Cesare Manfredi (President of Villa Erba) and Piero Bonasegale (new president) welcomed the guests with an impressive speech. Both emphasized their desire to celebrate this important milestone by gathering those who have believed in the ambitious project from the beginning. They also highlighted the importance of human capital, the professionalism of a staff always ready to accept and to follow the customer’s needs and whishes so that an event – be it a convention, a tradeshow or a fairytale wedding – can be perfect.
Many politicans attended the 30-years-celebrations and held speeches: for example the Mayor of Cernobbio Paolo Furgoni and the Mayor of Como Mario Lucini, the new president of the Province of Como Maria Rita Livi, Ambrose Taborelli (President Chamber of Commerce of Como) and many more.
Marketing Manager of Ferrari, Emanuele Carando, was likewise among the guests. Having organized an event at Villa Erba in February 2016, he stressed the uniqueness of the place and praised the professionality of the staff. Luchino Gastel, grandson of the Italian film director Luchino Visconti (*1906, †1976), spoke about his grandfather who had spent his childhood at Villa Erba and who had always noted that the estate was a source of inspiration for his best films. In the course of a guided tour through the Villa, the guests took a look at the rooms of Visconti and so got an impression of the history of the Italian cinema and Visconti’s personal connection to Villa Erba.
Dinner was served in the splendid rooms of the historic villa. There were fireworks over the lake to the music, three-dimensional video mapping on the external facade of the villa, acrobatic performances, stilt walkers and much more.
Francesca Schiatti, Commercial Manager at Villa Erba about the event:
“The celebrations for the 30th anniversary of Villa Erba have been a great opportunity to show our clients – known, actual and prospect – the potentiality of our venue. They got the cue to think to “what can we do in Villa Erba”: this was our purpose. I think we encouraged many of our guests to create their next event here!”
