Since 1929, automobile and motorcycle enthusiasts have gathered in Northern Italy for the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
From Friday, 26th May to Sunday, 28th May 2017, the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este and Villa Erba were the exclusive and unique settings of this traditional event, where guests were privileged to admire the finest historic vehicles and motorcycles of their eras.
51 cars and 40 motorcycles manufactured from the turn of the century to current models to prototypes for upcoming designs were presented at the event. Vehicles were nominated for a number of different prizes from the jury and the public. Some were even auctioned off!
This year’s theme was “Around the World in 80 Days – Voyage through an Era of Records,” refering to the start of the 20th century, when cars and mobility were becoming increasingly important. The vehicles were divided into different categories, each displaying a different period in time.
The beautiful vintage cars were a perfect fit to the beautiful backdrop of Villa Erba. Last year, Heiko Heuschele from the COREVENTUS GmbH travelled with us as a VIP guest to experience the venue. He arrived at the perfect time, as the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este was taking place! The event certainly made lasting impression; read his interview to find out more about his experience and thoughts about the venue.
Villa Erba and the Lake Como Event Network are able to host a number of different events. If you would like to find out more, please reach out to our local contact below!
