Christchurch Convention Centre
Since September 2014, Rob is working with NZ Govt. representatives – Otakaro and all stakeholders on the Master Planning Stage of the Christchurch Convention Centre and surrounding Precinct. His work includes full operational design interface with Architects, Engineers and all technical consultants on Centre design. He is also completing for the NZ Govt. the business case for the Centre with 8 years financial forecast, including economic benefit modelling, completing the full Operational Management Plan for the Centre and completing and putting in-place the 3 year pre-opening plan to attract International Conventions. International Business Events and Premium Manager
Tourism New Zealand is the organisation responsible for marketing New Zealand to the world as a visitor destination. Lisa Gardiner joined Tourism New Zealand in 2015 as the International Business Events and Premium Manager and is responsible for overseeing Tourism New Zealand’s activity to attract more international business delegates and premium travellers.
With staff in Auckland, Wellington, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Singapore, Sydney, Mumbai and London, Lisa manages the development and implementation of Tourism New Zealand’s Premium, International Business Events (conference and incentive) market strategies. Lisa holds a strong background in marketing, business development and digital innovation from working both domestically and internationally for global brands such as BP, Skype and Microsoft. In October 2016, Prue joined the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) team as Director of Sales. Her key responsibilities currently include the development and implementation of sales and business development activities; recruiting a new team of sales professionals; maintaining strong relationships with association, government and corporate clients; and strengthening the strategic partnerships with Auckland Convention Bureau and Tourism New Zealand to ensure the success of large-scale international bidding and the growth of the business events sector for New Zealand. In October 2017, Marija Gecan joined Auckland Conventions Venues & Events as the General Manager Sales. She is responsible for sales team leadership, driving revenue as well as strategic client management and general management responsibilities with a primary focus on proactive and reactive sales.
Marija brings a wealth of expertise from over 20 years in the hospitality and tourism industry, including experience in managing her own restaurant.
