A week and a half ago, Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands hosted the 34th Annual Conference of the Nordic Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (NSCMID) from 31 August to 3 September in the Nordic House.

The Nordic House is a five star conference centre located 1km from the Tórshavn city centre. The centre offers catering, free Wifi and seven meeting rooms seating up to 380 pax. And all of this surrounded by the Faroe Island’s beautiful landscape.

This year’s NSCMID was the largest in history: more than 350 attendees from 25 countries were present during the four day medical conference.

During the conference, participants were able to listen to a number of speakers, hold their own presentation, or present a poster of their findings. Outside of conference hours, attendees were offered a cultural walking tour of Tórshavn, an opening ceremony with traditional Faroese songs and dancing, as well as a boat tour exploring the cliffs and islands. To close the conference, attendees were invited to a congress dinner which took place at Hotel Føroyar.

Soon we will release a video in which some participants share their experience on the Faroe Islands. Spoiler – they loved it!
