There is a new addition coming to ibtm world this year! Tech and experiential start-ups will have a chance to present and connect with more than 15,000 top MICE professionals in the new Start-Up Pavilion!

In order to be considered for the Start-Up Pavilion, the company can only be up to two years old, have up to 5 full-time employees and earn less than $600,000 annually. If a Start-Up qualifies, they are entitled to an online diary where they can pre-schedule meetings with event planners interested in event tech.

Founder of Event Tech Lab, James Morgan stated, “With so many tech companies entering the industry, it’s fantastic that ibtm world is offering a platform for smaller, younger companies to showcase their ideas and how they’ve put them into action.”

“By showcasing the newest technologies and solutions for the MICE industry, ibtm world is once again demonstrating its commitment to innovation. The exposure that start-up technology companies can gain from exhibiting at this international event is unparalleled. The advantages of an international shop window, combined with the connections they can make and the potential business they could come away with proves that it’s an unmissable event,” Mr. Morgan continued.

ibtm events portfolio director, Kerry Prince agrees, “For the past 30 years our focus has always been and continues to be on providing our customers with the best possible experience, which includes access to the latest and most exciting innovations in the industry. The Start-Up Pavilion is not only a cost-effective opportunity for younger companies to gain exposure in the industry but also a real draw for our Hosted Buyers and trade visitors looking to experience and invest in the very latest event technology.”

In addition to the pavilion, guests will be able to experience the Knowledge Programme, which will include some lectures on technology! Kickstarter co-founder and CEO Yancey Strickler is one of the headlining speakers. The Innovation and Services Zones are also a great place to network and learn more about what is to come in the future events industry.

This pavilion will be a great opportunity for the Start-Ups to get recognition, as almost 15,000 visitors attended last year’s edition and organized more than 60,000 pre-scheduled meetings over the three days. And of course, this is great for the delegates attending too! This way, you can find a great product while it’s still under the radar. You can then choose to officially launch this product at one of your future events, creating a buzz not only for the Start-Up, but your event as well!

ibtm World takes place from November 28-30 at the Fira Gran Via Barcelona in Spain.
