The Palacongressi di Rimini has been extremely successful over the past year! We previously reported that the amount of events held in Rimini rose by 8%, adding up to 149 events with over 250,000 delegates in attendance.

In order to be successful, creative marketing activities are, among others, absolutely necessary – and Palacongressi’s team around its Marketing Manager Federica Lucini and Lara Sandre, International Business Development Executive is doing an impressive job!

Last month, Palacongressi has launched its new campaign “Giving Space and Shape to your Ideas” containing a two minute video that clearly gives you an idea of why you should choose the Italian venue to host your next event. The team has also recently presented its brand new brochure showcasing the venue’s unique features: beauty, technology, flexibility, sustainability. Thus, it’s not a surprise, that last year’s success continues this year: so far, Palacongressi di Rimini has hosted a great number of national and international events. Let’s take a look at some of the major ones…

One of the first events in 2017 was the Bici Academy (January 15-16) which attracted 600 participants. The client, Piero Nigrelli, Director of the Cycling Division of Confindustria ANCMA – National Association of Bicycles, Motorcycles, Accessories was absolutely blown away by the venue and its various services. “In the end, I can safely say that the Palacongressi di Rimini was the right choice because it has completely satisfied all the requirements of the first edition of Bici Academy.”

At the beginning of March (2-5), the 13th National AIMN Congress was held at the Palacongressi Rimini, for the third time! (The other editions were in 2011 and 2015.) Manuela Bobin, event manager, was especially proud of one aspect: “Thanks to the “Food for Good” social responsibility scheme that we have been involved in since 2015, any excess food was donated to local charity associations with the support of our catering partner, Summertrade. It’s a good practice that an increasing number of clients are endorsing, and we are very proud of the scheme.”

During the middle of March (16-18), Rimini hosted the 4th annual Advisory Board Meeting of the EuBea (European best event awards) Festival. The guests not only experienced an extraordinary event at the Palacongressi, they were also accommodated at the 5-star Grand Hotel di Rimini! Before the meeting, Salvatore Sagone, President of ADC Group expressed his excitement: “We are very grateful to the Rimini Riviera Convention Bureau for the valuable support given to the Advisory Board 2017. We are an international Festival, but at the same time we are very pleased to promote an Italian destination of great charm and great appeal, such as Rimini and its territory.“

The busy month came to a close as the Be-Wizard!, one of the most important events in the digital marketing industry, took place from March 31-April 1. Speakers and guests alike were very pleased with the result of the conference. Lisa Meyers, CEO & Founder of Verve Search and speaker at the event, noted: “I had a fantastic time speaking at BeWizard 2017. A very well organised conference with really engaged and fabulous audience.”

The Kemon Days from April 2-3 was another event that took place in Rimini – for the second year in a row. This company convention took full advantage of Palacongressi’s many services and opportunities by transforming the main event hall from a stage for the professional artists to a disco within an hour! The event was a mix of professional training courses, demos and entertainment. The event manager Ilaria Semprini Cesari said: “Undoubtedly, the synergy between the Palacongressi and the Expo Centre is the added value to our offer that translates into the possibility of using two different types of locations, situated at a short distance from each other, which can be customised and structured according to our clients’ needs.”

A further case study is about Vivi Benessere, a 3-day event dedicated to wellness that was held from May 5-7. During this period, 87 meetings and seminars took place! 19 rooms in addition to the exhibiting areas in the foyer were used to accommodate the participants and various activities. The main focus of the event was to create a light and welcoming setting to inspire visitors. Francesco Rosso, client for this event, was very satisfied with the end result. “The venue actually communicates wellness, not to mention the natural vibe from all the wood that was used in the construction of the Palacongressi. All of these aspects make people feel good…”

What’s coming next?

From June 23-24 for example, the Web Marketing Festival will be held at Palacongressi expecting around 4.000 participants. From July 9-16, it’s time for EuroPython, Europe’s largest Python conference, with 1.200 people attending.
